A mum was flabbergasted to find a two-headed worm crawling across her garden which she has since named Kevin and Perry.

Sherrie Fox, 56, said people have been “fascinated” by her find after she posted pictures of the odd-looking creature wriggling on her hand.

The wildlife lover named the double-headed worm ‘Kevin and Perry’ after characters played by Harry Enfield and Kathy Burke in the hit 90s TV series.

Her partner videoed the “amazing” moment on November 8 before popping Kevin and Perry back into a plant pot, Gloucestershire Live reports.

Sherrie, of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, said:”We are both wildlife fanatics.

“We have spent many a time videoing the ants collecting their eggs and taking them down the holes in our lawn.

“And the seasonal mining bees, which have tak

en to hogging the garden and making loads of holes too. Our garden can has more holes than a pin cushion.”

Sherrie has been told her find is quite rare and hopes her video will bring something a little “weird and wonderful” to people in times of uncertainty.

When asked what became of the double-headed worm, she said: ” I gently popped it in a plant pot in our garden, so hopefully it’s not to gone too far.

“I hope it’s not wriggled out and gone underground. I would love to see it again.”

Previous research shows it is possible for a worm to grow two heads after being chopped in two. But Sherrie has been told her find is very unusual.

In a 2017 study, scientists found an amputated worm regenerated into a double-headed creature after spending five weeks aboard the International Space Station.

BBC hit series Kevin and Perry was created and played by British comedian Harry Enfield in 1990.

Enfield plays teenager Kevin Patterson who is rude to his parents, yelling his famous catchphrases “so unfair” and I wish I’d never been born.”

His best pal Perry Carter, played by Kathy Burke, also yells abuse at his parents, while the duo are always polite to one another’s family.

The sketch show was later made into a film, titled Kevin & Perry Go Large, dubbed a British teen coming of age sex comedy.
